Our hunt for the perfect kajal continues.

Revlon Kajal Eye Liner Review

Finding the right kajal eye liner is something of an obsession here. The right balance of soft and smudgy, deep colour, and the ability to stay put without rubbing off are all important. For this South Asian beauty review, we tried Revlon’s Photo Ready Kajal in Matte Coal.

This affordable eye liner goes on smooth and easy. The smudger (included on one end) is not too hard and when rubbed, the liner smudges well and the strong pigment softens slightly (in a good way). After applying, I was very happy with the result. Half an hour later, not so much. The liner had smudged under my lower lid, giving me a racoon-like appearance. Over the next few hours, I had to keep cleaning smudged liner from under my eyes.

Jugni Style Tip: For a softer line on your lower lid, use the smudger side instead of pencil. The smudger needs a bit of liner on it for this to work. Start from the outer edge and rub gently to create a soft lower line.

Jugni Style Beauty Rating:┬áPaired with a good primer, this could be a nice kajal because the colour is really nice and the price point around $8.99 is good, but if you’re putting it straight onto clean skin or over a bit of concealer, it’s not great. We give it a 2.5/5.
