Ever wondered how to recreate beauty looks from the runway? Our friends at MAC Cosmetics shared some of their secrets, and revealed several face charts from last year’s IIFA shows in Toronto. Each of these looks is great for women with various shades of skin – no weird yellow jaundice-looking eye shadow here.

Tip: Not so talented with the makeup brushes? Show these face charts to a makeup artist at a MAC Cosmetics counter (or any makeup artist) and get them to recreate these looks.

Soft and Sexy for Daytime:

Look created by Melissa Gibson for MAC Cosmetics for Vikram Phadnis (above right and middle right photos) during the IIFA Rocks show in Toronto.

How to get the look:

Face: Studio Sculpt Foundation

Eyes: Fluidline in Blacktrack (one of our favourite liners!) + #7 lashes with Zoom Black Mascara

To keep it more subtle during the day, lose the falsies and coat your lashes with mascara. And don’t forget to use an eyelash curler.

Brows: Keep them full. Use eye shadow a few shades lighter than your hair and fill in any uneven spots using an angled brush and quick, soft lines following the angle of your brow hairs.

Lips: Mix in Red

For a nude look, try Lipstick in Flesh Pot, as used during the Rajesh Pratap Singh fashion show

Pretty in Pinks, Oranges and Reds

Look created by Melissa Gibson for MAC Cosmetics for Sabyasachi Mukherjee (above left and middle left photos) at IIFA Rocks show in Toronto

How to get the look:

Face: Studio Sculpt Foundation

Eyes: Fluidline in Blacktrack, #7 lashes with Zoom Black Mascara

Brows: Keep them full and au naturel

Lips: The artists created differentiated between 3 looks but switching up the lipstick. Depending on your skin tone, Fushia or Red may be best. 1. Lip Mix in Fushia; 2. Lip Mix in Red; and 3. Lip Mix in Orange.

For a spicier look, try these lip shades used during The Bay’s fashion show of Canadian designers at IIFA: Lip pencil in Spice, topped with Lipglass in Revealing and Clear

Evening Glam

A sexy look created by Fatima Thomas, Neil Young, Jane McKay and Debbie Finnegan for MAC Cosmetics for the IIFA Awards in Toronto. This is a little more complicated from the first two looks, but the results are stunning. You can modify the colours for the liner/glitter depending on your mood (we love deep purples and navys for eyeliner).

How to get the look:

Face: Full Coverage Foundation, Studio Finish Concealer

Eyes: Eye shadow in Amber Lights (our fave! Looks good on all skin tones, especially darker ones) on the eye lid, and shadow in Soft Brown on the crease.

Line with Fluidline in Blacktrack, followed by glitter/pigment in Lime, Emerald Green and Chartreuse on top of the liner on upper lid. Complete the look with #84 lashes with Zoom Black Mascara. Seriously sexy eyes.

Brows: Defined. Use Fluidline in Dipdown to define your brows, and follow with the Select Sheer Powder Loose in Golden Bronze and Silver Dusk.

Cheeks: Blush in Coppertone and Gingerly

Lips: Four different looks were created for the night: 1. Lipglass in Ample Pink and Lipglass in Pink Poodle; 2. Lipglass in Revealing and Enchantress; 3. Lipstick in Russian Red; and 4. Lip Mix in Fushia

Go Bold, Or Go Home

This fantastic look was created by Caitlin Callahan for MAC Cosmetics at the IIFA Awards. Switch up the blue shadow and liner with green, purple, or a deep bronze.

How to get the look:

Face: Studio Fix Fluid Foundation and Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation all over face.

Eyes: Eye shadow in Electric Eel all over eye lid (it’s bold but it will look good). Add eye shadow in Contrast on the inner and outer corners. Line your eyes in Technakohl in Auto-de-Blu along the water line and smudge along your lower lash line. Instant moody, sexy eyes.

Apply #4 Lashes and coat with Zoom Black Mascara. If you want to go all out (we’d leave this step out), apply crystals along the upper lash line.

Brows: Tame your natural brows with Fluidline in Dipdown to add defination to compliment your eyes. Use Select Sheer Powder Loose in Golden Bronze and Silver Dusk under your brow as a highlighter. It’s an instant eye lift.

Lips: Four different lip colours were used at IIFA. 1. Lipstick in Peachstock; 2. Lipstick in Pink Noveau; 3. Lipstick in Girl About Town; and 4. Lipstick in Red Lip Mix
