Bibhu Mohapatra Fall 2014 at New York Fashion Week

We have a lot of love for Indian American designer Bibhu Mohapatra this season. His Fall Ready-to-Wear collection at New York Fashion Week was an essay in elegance and thoughtful design, with inspiration coming from Tibet.Bibhu Mohapatra New York Fashion Week Fall 2014

The digital striped print was inspired by clothing and landscapes from Tibet, which he reimagined in silk scarves, gowns, trousers and blouses.

Key Trends: High-waisted, wide-leg trousers and high-waisted pleated dresses and pencil skirts with thin belts at the waist. Other trends include cropped coats, gold beading and embellishments, flashes of bright red, metallic stripes, leather, shearling and fur.

Find out how to recreate the beauty looks from Bibhu Mohapatra’s show.

Must Try: For winter, consider knee-length overcoats in wool or leather with fur trimmed collars. Another look to try at home is a striped scarf wrapped around the neck and across the body. Layer a silk scarf over a monochromatic blouse or tank and tie the back of the scarf in a bow or secure with a vintage brooch at the back.
