Beautiful people from around the world have descended on the French seaside town of Cannes, for its 65th namesake film festival, and we’re on the prowl for a Sonam Kapoor sighting.
After walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival Closing Gala in Alexander McQueen, Sonam made a quick change and attended the L’Oreal Winner’s Dinner, where she noshed and bumped elbows with celebrities like Audrey Tatou.
In a Dolce Gabbana dress with custom made Dolce Gabbana shoes. We love her in this dress, it’s beautiful, whimsical, and reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn. We usually don’t condone matching your shoes to the same colour as your outfit, but here, Sonam looks divine so we’ll let it pass. This is the same dress and headband that Sonam wore in a L’Oreal photo shoot several days ago in Cannes. The only change we would make to this outfit is a change in makeup. We love the pop and unexpected contrast of bright pink lips with a red dress, as seen in the L’Oreal photo below right.
This dress was a beautiful conclusion to her week in Cannes, and a contrast to the almost all-black wardrobe she wore to the Vanity Fair Gucci party, the Chopard L’Oreal party and on the red carpet. We have one critique: her wardrobe wasn’t as exciting as it was last year in Cannes, and we would have liked to see her in a homegrown, Indian designer. She looked stunning in the Masaba sari she wore to Cannes in 2011 and the Deepti Pruthi sari worn to the Elie Saab Fall Couture 2012 show in Paris .
Bonus: We have a new image from the Gucci Vanity Fair party that took place earlier in Cannes.
The original image we posted here was tweeted by Gucci themselves. The fashion house released this new image of Sonam wearing Gucci, and with Gucci creative director Frida Giannini and her partner, Patrizio Di Marco. We’re still not fans of her hair, but we love the earrings.
Arjun Rampal on the Cannes Red Carpet
Our favourite Bollywood actor/devastatingly handsome model walked the red carpet at the Cannes closing gala, with his wife, model Mehr. Arjun wore Rohit Bal, while Mehr wore a popsicle orange gown by Tarun Tahiliani.
We think Arjun brings the perfect mix of sexy and military chic with his ensemble, but Mehr’s gown fails to impress.
And that brings us to the end of our 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival fashion coverage. Our favourites? Diane Kruger did it for us every time she stepped out onto the red carpet. We have an honourable mention for Freida Pinto, and big gold star to Sonam Kapoor for being our favourite Bollywood fashion princess.
Still Desperately Seeking Sonam. Read all our fashion coverage from the 65th Cannes Film Festival in France:
