One designer who we’re very excited about this season is Vancouverite-turned-world traveller, Tia Cibani.
Born in North Africa and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Tia Cibani’s career has taken her to China and New York, where in 2004, she relaunched Ports 1961 as their Creative Director. In 2012, Tia debuted her namesake collection at New York Fashion Week, and received the Fashion Group International Rising Star Award.
Her inspirations for this season’s collection include Turkey and her North African roots, as well as the rather fabulous fashion and design icon, Iris Apfel. We loved the mix of slinky, silk churidar pants with knee-length shifts in various shapes and volumes. We hope to see a Hollywood starlet or two in the navy lace gown with yellow-green flower highlights, or the heavenly mauve, red and black voluminous gown.
Let us know what you think of Tia Cibani’s Ready-to-Wear Fall 2014 collection.
