Fuschia lipstick with a red dress? Find out how to make these seemingly clashing colours work together.
Sonam Kapoor is at the 65th Cannes Film Festival, representing L’Oreal Paris on the red carpet and at several glamorous, celebrity-filled events. In her downtime, she’s getting made up for L’Oreal Paris photo shoots, including the photo above. We don’t know whose dress or necklace she’s wearing, but we do have some tips (thanks to L’Oreal Paris) on how to recreate her South Asian beauty look at home.
Eyes: There’s no smoky eye here. To put the focus on her bright lips and statement necklace, a single gold shadow was used on the entire eyelid. On Sonam, they used L’Oreal Infallible Shadow in Bronze Divine. Follow it up with your favourite kohl or liquid liner to define your eyes, curl your lashes and add several coats of black mascara.
Brows: Every Indian beauty needs defined, bold eyebrows to frame her face. If you’re still plucking your brows to oblivion, stop. Keep them full and natural, and only pluck stray hairs. If you have lighter patches, use a brow or eye shadow in a shade lighter than your hair, and fill in gaps with an angle brush in soft, short strokes.
Cheeks: For a beach-kissed glow, forgo your regular blush for a golden bronzer. On Sonam, they used a light dusting of L’Oreal Glam Bronzer in 301, and we think this look would translate well for different shades of South Asian skin. If you can’t find that bronzer, NARS makes some fantastic shades (try Laguna), or try our recently reviewed W3LL People bronzer.
