Jugni Style’s London Correspondent, Deepti Chadalavada, channeled her inner Tommy Ton at London Fashion Week, where the stylish came out in their sartorial best to witness iconic shows from some of the biggest fashion houses in the world.

Unlike fashion weeks at Milan, New York or Paris, London is as well known for its free spirited street style as it is for the clothes on the runway. Whereas at other fashion weeks labels can categorize street style, in London, truly anything goes. There is no uniform here where you can expect to see hair colors from every shade of the rainbow to even a plastic dog used as an accessory.

This year at London Fashion Week, prints were everywhere that met the eye (including a particularly stylish eyeball print). Clashing prints, matching prints, subdued prints, bold prints – it was clear that Londoners were ready for the new season and not afraid to wear prints to brighten up these final winter days.

True to London’s multicultural aesthetic, the fashion set paired all black with ethnic jewelry or mixed upcoming talent with established high-end fashion houses all in one outfit. Pops of colour were as popular as ever, but this time it wasn’t just neon brights that took centre stage, pastels and summer brights were seen as well.

Most inspiring at London Fashion Week, however, is not the clothes. It is the fearless spirit with which everyone wears their style. Nowhere else will you find a more accepting fashion crowd who are willing to accept you whether you choose Louboutin or Doc Martens.
