It’s another super bright collection from Manish Arora for Autumn Winter 2014.
Manish Arora presented a candy-inspired collection of oversize ice-cream prints and sugary landscapes printed onto Peruvian circle skirts, low-rise Chinese workers’ trousers, nylon backpacks, and capes in waterproof techno fabric. While a few over-the-top pieces proved to be more eye sores than trend setters, the real star of the collection were the fluorescent sneakers with built-in flashing LED lights (just like LA Gears!).
Manish Arora collaborated with Amrapali Jewels once again for their fourth collection at Paris Fashion Week. Perhaps not as bold as their past work together, the gold and enamel jewellery added a delicate touch to the large prints. Multi-chain necklaces and earrings, pink and green dangling hearts, and colourful rings carried on the candy theme from the runway.
Wearing an entire outfit may prove challenging, but take a cue from Manish Arora’s collection and incorporate a few key themes or pieces into your fall wardrobe instead.
Key Themes: Obi belts, backpacks, bright and fluffy earmuffs, low-rise wide-leg or baggy trousers, floral prints, and techno fabrics.
Our Favourites: The jewellery, the floor-length dresses and velvet skirts, and belts tied or fitted high on the waist.
How to Wear: Next fall, pair a bright pink, orange or sky blue obi belt with a maxi dress or tunic layered over wide-leg pants. Heart-shaped crossover bags and hot pink nylon bags provide an interesting contrast over a grey or camel wool coat, and the beautiful gold and enamel jewellery collection will add the perfect amount of whimsy to an Indian outfit or cocktail dress. And don’t forget those sneakers! This takes some finesse, but paired with the right shift or bodycon dress, or even silk track pants, sneakers can be elevated from gym wear to very chic.
