He’s all about prints. With Manish Arora, you either love him or you don’t understand him, and at Paris Fashion Week, there was a mixed reception to his Ready-to-Wear collection for Fall 2013.
We, of course, loved the show (have we ever denied our passion for this designer?). Inspired by the Burning Man Festival, the collection had bright, loud, futuristic prints and desert images paired with black turban caps and gold jewelry (Manish collaborated once again with Amrapali Jewelry for this collection).
There were some mixed messages: a tangle of bright and monochromatic prints, Dali-esque desert images, sombre navy dresses, embellished black jackets, fur, peplum, Mad Men-style pencil skirts and blouses, and a slight warrior princess vibe with the jewelry. Still, we covet a piece or two of the Manish Arora x Amrapali jewelry, perhaps a lovely printed peplum top, the navy maxi dress and the black brocade jacket embellished with gold and black beads.
