Mr. Bollywood Manish Malhotra displayed his creative skills at Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2011, with a grand finale show that was glamorous and sophisticated, with a lot of Indian drama and bling.
He didn't veer far from his usual designs, sticking to the colourful, flamboyant Indian evening wear favoured by Bollywood film directors and actresses. Rich fabrics like lace, chiffon, silk, net and velvet appeared in shades of white and candy floss pink, and were complimented by black, wine, gold, pale grey, metallics and cherry red.
Although he's not the most original designer in Mumbai (his bold contrasting borders have been seen on the runway for several seasons now), he did hit all the international style trends spotted throughout Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive – volume, draping, sheer and lace.
Lookout for plunging 'V' necklines, fitted bodices, and lots of volume on the skirts and lenghas – perfect for bridal wear or your next charity ball.
