India International Jewellery Week 2013 kicked off today in Delhi with a slew of gorgeous models and actresses walking the ramp in designer jewels.
Our favourite fashion spokesperson, Sonam Kapoor, walked the ramp in an Anamika Khanna lengha paired with jewellery from her mom Sunita’s line. We’re on the fence about the lengha, but loved the jewellery – so classic and beautiful.
Other shows included Gitanjali’s Earth, Water, Air and Fire-inspired “Shuddhi Jewels,” using gold, antique metal, temple jewellery and other ornaments, as well as Rio Tinto’s diamond collection. From Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers, we saw an exquisite, regal collection inspired by the palaces of Rajasthan, using full, rose and uncut white and yellow diamonds, emeralds and pearls. Rosily Paul presented an interesting, “new agey” collection using gold and amber, while Monica Kapoor incorporated kundan, pearls and stones for a collection with traditional motifs and contemporary styling.
