Manish Arora has a penchant for the bold, the bright and the outlandish. But his recent ready-to-wear collection at Paris Fashion Week Spring 2013 was tame compared to his previous outings on the runway.
You can always rely on Manish Arora to bring something crazy and fabulous to the runway, whether it’s graphic prints, spikes or sculpture. That’s why this Paris collection was a little disappointing – it was so much more wearable than usual (but maybe that’s a good thing).
India was on Manish’s mind, as seen in the silhouettes, embroidery and the jewelry, created by Indian jeweler, Amrapali. We were impressed that he didn’t recycle designs from his collection at Delhi Couture Week in August 2012, but created new pieces for the international market. We loved the soft, pastel pinks and blues, and the high-waisted dresses paired with shimmering, metallic leggings. For Spring 2013 fashion, Indian inspiration continues to star on international runways.
