Say hello to the ever-so regal, slightly antiquated curtsy – brought to you by this season’s favourite silhouette, the A-line dress.

Our favorite quirky actress, Zooey Deschanel, wears classic A-line dresses on her hit show “New Girl,” and it’s sparked a trend that we love. Zooey plays a cute, innocent elementary school teacher living with three male roommates. Her adorable on and off-screen wardrobe includes several A-line dresses in bright colours, hairbands, and lots of polka dots. [Photo By: Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images]

Take a cue from the “New Girl”, and embrace the A-line dress trend. While this look may recall similar dresses worn during the 1950s and 1960s, it’s updated for 2012 with minimal accessories (see the photo of Zooey to the left) and colours, prints and fabrics that hit key Spring 2012 trends (see the ASOS A-line dress above that includes sheer fabric, florals and embellishment). Add red lips, mascara, and kohl rimmed eyes to perfect the look. Now you’re set for a girl’s night out.
