Berlin Fashion Week Meets Indian Style Part 1
Indian designers are taking the globe by storm. At the recent Berlin Fashion Week, designers Aneeth Arora and Kallol Datta were selected by Lakme India Fashion Week to showcase Indian design. Both designers presented designs that took a fairly avante garde takes on Indian fashion, with a strong focus on detail and silhouette. We love.
Kallol Datta maintained his strong focus on construction, with tassels, drawstrings and hoods adding detail to grunge silhouettes. While sticking to his favourite black and grey tones, he introduced valve systems and pin holder-like prints into garments.
With the theme of love in this collection, splashes of desaturated pinks and reds keep it interesting and favourites from this collection include a well crafted maxi skirt in a shade of orange red. Already a favourite with celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, it’s easy to see Kallol Datta making his mark on the international scene with a collection like this, which is international in its focus without compromising his own aesthetic.
