Shah Rukh Khan recently held a press conference in Mumbai to announce the Times of India Film Awards, or TOIFA,to the world, and was accompanied by acrobatic dancers, choreographer Shiamak Davar and other important people from the Times of India Group. One of the headliners for TOIFA in Vancouver, Shah Rukh Khan will be joined by other Indian film celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra (will she sing?), Ranbir Kapoor (we love him!), Abhishek Bachchan (he’s still acting?), Karan Johar and a ton of other actors.
- April 3, 2013: Celebrities arrive in Vancouver. For the stalkers among us, head to YVR to snap a photo of your favourite Indian film stars.
- April 4 ,2013: TOIFA Music Night at Pacific Coliseum. Features music and dance performances by Bollywood stars. We wonder if Canadian singer Raghav will perform – he sang one of the key songs in the Bollywood film, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which featured Shah Rukh Khan. Fun fact: the music for that film was directed by A.R. Rahman. – maybe he’ll perform at the event too.
- April 5, 2013: Indian film screenings at different venues in Metro Vancouver and the TOIFA Technical Awards. Expect stars in attendance and a tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema, as well as the work of the late filmmaker, Yash Chopra.
- April 6, 2013: Times of India Film Awards at BC Place Stadium. This is the hot ticket event of the weekend. Red carpets, paparazzi, dance performances and the awards themselves.
