The city by the bay is the ultimate weekend escape. San Francisco is revered for it’s fabulous restaurant scene, extraordinary shopping options, and of course, the stunning sights.
Just a hop, skip and short flight away, San Fran has a lot more to offer than the reigning Giants, 49ers and Alcatraz. Jugni Style’s Sukhi Ghuman recently ventured to the San Francisco Bay Area and experienced all that it had to offer.
Located in the heart of the SoMA disctrict, this boutique luxury hotel is a gathering place for art exhibitions, film screenings, fashion and music events. This urban retreat has a refreshing vibe. Mix and mingle in the lobby lounge or rejuvenate in the Bliss Spa. Some of my fave aspects of the hotel were the free gift bags that awaited our arrival, the private car service and the luxury suites with incredible style, artful décor, ultra-plush bedding, and views of the spectacular Bay Bridge.
There are a number of restaurants you must try when visiting SFO, but for an amazing brunch experience, make a reservation at Foreign Cinema. Located in the bustling Mission district, this old theatre turned restaurant still shows old B&W movies projected on their walls. The daily changing California/Mediterranean-inspired menu is also impressive, as I left licking my fingers and wanting more.
Get off the beaten path. Once you’ve seen the Golden Gate Bridge and walked along the pier, jump in a cab and head over to the Fillmore District, one of San Francisco’s greatest treasures. Home to a rich cultural and ethnic diversity, it’s the main boutique shopping and dining district in one of the city’s finest neighborhoods.
