Debuting a Spring Summer 2013 collection at Toronto Fashion Week, ASHTIANI by Golnaz Ashtiani took a funky new twist on retro classic designs, and combined it with her trademark modern pleating and precision cutting.
The feminine collection takes a trip to the early 1960s in the south of France, with inspiration from sporty day wear and fresh cocktail frocks.
Featuring special touches and new fabrics like sheer organza, as well as textured PVC and cotton, ASHTIANI has continued her romantic and ladylike design story in structured 60s silhouettes with geometric appliqués and cutouts. The brand’s trademark pleats, multi-fabric garments, layers and peplums have joined peek-a-boo details and draped separates. Taking influence from a European holiday, ASHTIANI’s SS13 show follows a pastel colour story of peaches and violets with injections of midnight blue, giving women a reason to celebrate flowing fabrics with a subtle hint of vintage Hollywood glamour.
