Desperately Seeking Sonam: Day 4
Desperately seeking… a hangover cure? Who knew vodka water was so lethal, especially when consumed in high volume. Couldn't even wake up on time for Shah Rukh Khan media scrum. Disaster!
Back track. Wednesday evening at Fairmont Royal York. On route to media room, Joti ran into Sonu Sood, super sexy villain from Singh is Kinng and Dabangg. Who was that mysterious woman with him? Lover? Escort? Volunteer? Sonu to Joti: "Excuse me, I need to get my hair done. Can you help me?" Why yes of course! Joti, who is now referred to as JS Head Paparazzo, also snapped Genelia D'Souza, Zayed Khan, Neha Dupia, Dia Mirza et al.
Later that night: First drinks at Fairmont bar. Spotted BBC Asian crew – first thing Tommy Sandhu asked was, "where are you from? What's your pindh?" Does that line still work? Stalked Raj Pablo a bit. xo. Thought we saw a group of escorts heading up the stairs. Shifted to Ritz for a bit, drank some too tart Rose and enjoyed their turkey burger, but no Bolly sightings.
Much later: As lovely as we are, no invite to IIFA party at Carlu where stars reportedly showed up hours late and those who did come, hung out with the likes of Fashion TV's Jeanne Beaker. Instead, we cabbed to Liberty Grande for the IIFA Green Carpet Gala. Laila O Laila on the speakers, girls in dresses barely covering their behinds, and tube dresses slipping down past their bras. Classy.
Spotted these two dapper men, best dressed of the evening. Chatted with Rup from Josh, who said, "Jugni Style. Love the name. That's heavy. Heavy, heavy, heavy, heavy." Two vodka waters (make that a double) later, left for a meatless Big Mac.
And still no Sonam.
