Now we’ve seen everything. In a remarkable marketing ploy, DKNY created a Ramadan-inspired capsule collection styled by Dubai-based editors.
The irony of a New York-based brand capitalizing on a Muslim holiday is not lost on us, when the idea of Muslims and New York is still so tenuous and fractured.
The DKNY capsule collection, “Ramadan Summer,” pulls together caftans, tunics, printed jumpsuits and high-waisted maxi skirts. The campaign is styled by fashion designer Tamara Al Gabbani, and Styles Magazine fashion editor, Yalda Golsharifi, who are both based in Dubai.
