Project Runway Canada winner Evan Biddell’s show at Toronto Fashion Week was nothing short of dramatic and theatrical, with models in dramatic prints and cascading fabrics on the runway.
Biddell’s collection, called “aMUSE,” was a cross between urban chic and sexy safari, but could have easily been termed “fierce feline,” as his animal prints, bold cuts and big jewels gave off an animalistic vibe. There are certain animal prints that have come and gone over the years, but Biddell’s creations don’t give into a trend with an expiry date. His prints lend an authentic look and an art deco feel, and will make a statement for years to come.
The plunging draped necklines and graphic prints gave a nod to pop culture and lent some freshness and flare to the collection. Biddell’s pieces were like paintings on fabric.
