Desis and dinos in the ROM is not a combination you’d expect from a night at the museum, and yet the upcoming Indo Pop event as part of ROM’s Friday Night Live (#FNLROM) line-up promises us the chance to experience both.
On Friday May 31, the ROM celebrates contemporary South Asian Arts and Heritage Month with an after hours night of music, dance, great food and art. We’re looking forward to Broken Dance Company performing to choreography by international hip-hop dancer/choreographer, Chase Constantino, comedy from YouTube superstar, Superwoman, digital art by London-based Inkquisitive, South Asian fashion, and mendhi demonstrations.
In FNLROM style, there will be in-gallery experiences, movable feasts (including veg options!) and pop-up bars serving alcohol throughout the museum.
We look forward to partying in our modern blingy Punjabi flats next to our prehistoric Dino peeps.
Details: Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Royal Ontario Museum, 100 Queens Park, Toronto. Admission is 19+, with tickets at $12 (students $10) available in advance and at the door (the ROM recommends advance purchases). ROM Bucks, available at $6 each, are redeemable for any food or alcoholic drink item at the pop-up gastro-locations. The party runs from 7:00 p.m. to midnight.
