Maybe it’s our love of all things shiny and gold, but “The Holi War” by Bappi Lahiri and Jazzy B is the best song ever (or at least this week).
This was a match made in heaven
They both love gold, wear too much of it and straddle the line between being tacky and undeniably cool. Bappi – the music producer behind Bollywood disco tracks like, “Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Aaja” (which M.I.A. sampled a few years back) and “I am a Disco Dancer” – joins Bhangra singer/gold teeth wearer, Jazzy B for a Holi song of epic proportions.
Admittedly, the music produced by Sharib Toshi is so-so, the lyrics a bit silly, but the video is all fun, thanks in part to director/producer Anubhav Sinha, who is known for directing Bollywood films. But most of the credit goes to Jazzy B, who hams it up on screen, and has some fun with Bappi Lahiri.
