Jugni Style founders Manjot Bains and Joti Dhesi are scouring Toronto's streets and A-list parties this week, looking for their favourite Bollywood fashionista, Sonam Kapoor. Follow their exploits as they travel to Toronto's hot spots, restos, high street and designer boutiques, and the IIFA Green Carpets. Do they find Sonam? Or Arjun Rampal, their second love? Tune in to find out.

Desperately Seeking Sonam: Day 1

Started the day with a soy latte while perusing the gossip dailies and Bollywood twitter feeds to find any sign of Sonam's whereabouts. Her father, Anil Kapoor, arrives tonight at YYZ, and fingers crossed, Sonam and her stylist sister, Rhea Kapoor, catch the plane with him. Spent the afternoon walking through Yorkville, where Toronto's elite and fashionable converge for nosh, drinks and shopping. No sign of Sonam or other Bollywood stars, but think we spotted Diana Agron from Glee outside Starbucks. Considered following a security guard outside the Four Seasons, but he gave us a cold, mean stare, so turn towards Indiva, THE place to shop for Indian designer wear in Toronto. No Sonam there either. Or Arjun Rampal. Sadness.

Head to Bloor Street to checkout Holt Renfrew (Bollywood starlets like Sonam, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu would love their selection of bags), but get sidetracked by MAC, the official makeup sponsor of IIFA 2011. Their limited edition Bollywood collection by Mickey Contractor has been reprised this month to celebrate IIFA. Pick up two tubes of Mehr lipstick (which is incidentally Arjun Rampal's gorgeous wife's name) and a Siahi Fluidline. Beautiful colours.

More later. Plans to go bar hopping tonight. Practicing discreet paparazzo-style photography.

Who is Sonam Kapoor?

Daughter of Bollywood and Hollywood actor Anil Kapoor (he starred in Slumdog Millionaire, the last season of 24, and we'll see him in the upcoming Mission Impossible 4). She's a young actress trying to make it big in Bollywood, and Indian cinema's best dressed woman these days. Fendi, Jean Paul Gaultier, The Row, TopShop, Chanel, Masaba – she brings a sartorial mix of high-end and new designers, with the odd high street jacket thrown in. She caught our eye in Aisha and Delhi 6 with her spunky attitude and and stunning smile. Much of her style is credited to her sister, talented stylist and producer, Rhea Kapoor, and professional stylist Pernia Qureshi.

Why We're Seeking Sonam

We love her.

Who is Arjun Rampal?

Just one of the most handsome, sexy, baritone voiced actors to hit Bollywood. Model turned actor, he's mostly just a pretty face and amazing body, but his work in Rock On and political drama Rajneeti has brought him critical acclaim.
