He’s shown in London, Paris and Mumbai, and now Manish Arora will head up Paris fashion house, Paco Rabanne. His first presentation and public test of talent as the Creative Director of Paco Rabanne will be at the Paris SS 2012 shows later this year.
Manish will be tasked with revitalizing the depressed brand with his signature bold, bright and psychedelic design aesthetic. Owned by Puig Group, a Spanish company that also owns the fashion and fragrance properties of Caroline Herrera and Nina Ricci, Paco Rabanne was known for its experimental designs using metal, paper and plastic in the 1960s – so we think Manish is a natural choice for a brand that likes to be different.
Manish Arora is the only Indian designer to show at the Paris fashion shows and has also done several successful collaborations around the world, most notably with MAC Cosmetics, Swatch, Swarovski and Nespresso. His appointment as Creative Director means even more international fame for Indian-origin designers like Manish and Bibhu Mohapatra, who have transcended beyond bejeweled designs to create collections truly international in scope and vision.
Our eyes are on Paris and what Manish has in store for SS 2012.
