Sleek, pinned back hair, intricately embroidered coats and slim column gowns were key looks featured in Naeem Khan’s Ready-to-Wear Fall 2013 collection at New York Fashion Week.
Even though this Ready-to-Wear collection is really just meant for people with red carpet or gala events to attend, we like to take style cues from the runway and incorporate them into our seasonal wardrobes, be it little details like embroidery, beading, obi belts or metallic finishes.
Trends for Fall 2013: 1920s hair (think Gatsby); Byzantine-inspired prints and embroidery; velvet; deep, rich reds, royal blues and metallic finishes; belts over dresses; and high waisted trousers paired with intricately embroidered jackets or capes.
Favourite Pieces: Deep-V, long-sleeved gowns with belts cinched at the waist. After seeing strapless, one shoulder and sleeveless gowns dominate red carpets for several seasons, we’re excited to see long, fitted sleeves as well as elegant cap sleeves in chiffon. We just hope the Hollywood A-listers take a cue from the runway.
