Remember this name: Rami Kadi. We expect many great things from this Lebanese fashion designer.
We’re very impressed with Rami Kadi’s first couture presentation in Paris. Inspired by Arab architecture, his collection is all about geometric shapes, angles and masterful draping.
After Chanel/Karl Lagerfeld’s Orientalist, Arabian Nights/Sailor Moon-inspired Cruise 2015 show in Dubai and Payal Singhal’s Moroccan and Arab architecture-inspired collection at Lakme Fashion Week Resort 2014, Rami Kadi gives a nod to Islamic architecture in a beautiful presentation.
“I wanted to come and bring Arabic culture, so I got inspired from everything that has to do with Arabic architecture, and did it in a very modern, trendy, edgy look,” he said to Women’s Wear Daily.
The star tile embroidery is stunning, and standout looks include the laser-cut, flared high-waisted skirt, and a gorgeous silver coat with burgundy geometric embroidery. The column gown in blue, burgundy and beige is also stunning (we hope someone wears this on a red carpet soon!), as is the pale blue wedding gown with gold geometric embroidery.
We’ve added burgundy and pale blue to our Fall colour palette, and Rami Kadi to our fashion’s most wanted list. See more images from his first couture collection in Paris below.
