Indian actress Soha Ali Khan tied the knot with long-time beau, Kunal Khemu this past weekend, treating us to a selection of beautiful South Asian fashion.
Saif Ali Khan’s little sister Soha married actor Kunal Khemu on January 24, 2015 in a small wedding followed by an intimate reception with friends and family. Quite the opposite of her brother’s wedding in 2012, when Saif married Kareena Kapoor in a lavish Bollywood wedding in Delhi.
So how stunning is the bride? Less can be more when it comes to makeup, and we think Soha Ali Khan’s bridal makeup is the perfect complement to her gold Sabyasachi lehenga (swooning!) and orange dupatta. And the jewellery is stunning – we love everything about her bridal look. Her mom Sharmila Tagore is her usual elegant self in a gold and white sari.
Brother and sister-in-law were pretty in pink and white. Kareena’s sari is from Manish Malhotra’s recent collection, featuring mirror-work on the blouse and sari border.
For the reception, the couple opted for an understated but stunning look. We love everything about this couple’s wedding style: his almost casual comfort, her exquisite lehenga from Sanjay Garg’s Spring 2015 collection, the matching pocket square, the lack of blingey embellishment, and that happy glow.
Kareena Kapoor wore a Manish Malhotra lehenga (no surprise there) with mirror-work on the blouse, while Sharmila Tagore looked regal in a pink and gold silk sari and royal jewels. We like the navy velvet vest over the navy kurta sported by Saif Ali Khan.
What’s a wedding without friends? Amrita Arora, Malaika Arora Khan, and Saif’s son joined in the festivities.
How cute are the Kapoor sisters? Karisma wore a Manish Malhotra lehenga with an embroidered coat. Love the gold on white look. Amrita Arora wore a custom Shantanu Nikhil lehenga, which we didn’t really like.
Friend fashion: Malaika Arora Khan wore an embellished cream anarkali with an ombre net dupatta by Preeti S, and jewels by Farah Ali Khan. We like the emerald earrings, but that’s about it. Actress Konkona Sen Sharma was a vision in a Raw Mango sari. The styling and makeup is all on point; she looked beautiful. And finally, wearing our favourite outfit of the night was Neha Dhupia, who wore a Payal Singhal lehenga embroidered with metallic birds and branches. Lovely.
What Indian wedding is complete without mehndi? To celebrate her upcoming nuptials, Soha Ali Khan wore a custom outfit created by Ritu Kumar with pretty gota-work.
We kind of like how Kareena Kapoor went casual in a loose cotton, Pakistani-style kameez with wide leg pants. Totally out of character for her, but that’s not a bad thing. Saif looked handsome in a kurta pajama. Neha Dhupia brought the glam factor with her Nupur Kanoi ensemble in event-appropriate mehndi green.
