Who knew outerwear could be so sexy? Soia & Kyo’s Spring Summer 2013 show featured beautiful fabrics and embellishments that set this collection apart at Toronto Fashion Week.
Soia & Kyo designer Ilan Elfassy has a reputation for creating sleek, fun outerwear, and the Spring Summer 2013 collection was no exception. Using a range of fabrics, from smooth leather to leather look, and rustic to tattered suede, the jackets and coats featured special embellishments like belts, buckles and zippers, creating unique, covetable pieces.
What’s unfortunate is that the beautifully styling of the show included clothing that the company doesn’t design because Soia & Kyo ONLY does outerwear. How do you display a collection of outerwear on the runway and keep the focus on the jackets and coats? You can’t have nude models wearing coats, that would just be weird. Regardless, kudos to the stylists at Soia & Kyo for creating looks that not only presented their pieces in the best way possible, but also illustrated the chic and trendy lifestyle emulated by the Soia & Kyo brand.
