This show was dark. And bizarre. There’s a reason why Annaikka’s Autumn/Winter 2013 collection is called “Fatal Vanity.”
Even this model seems to think the collection is a bit off.
Annaikka‘s runway show at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week presented a combination of, “purity with satanic influences,” because, as the designer puts it, she is, “depicting the two sides of all women, one the pure and the other dark. Her dark side takes over and she is determined to prove to the world that women should not be underestimated.” Oh brother. We only have two sides? I thought I had five. Sad face.
I liked most of the collection – the beading, cropped jackets, leather, attention to detail, and tailoring is all quite beautiful. But the description of the collection is so off-putting and I rarely (ok never) like to be pigeon-holed into just being either pure and dark, that I wouldn’t purchase an item from the collection on principle.
