It feels like happy hour all the time these days – we can’t help but get in the holiday spirit with a glass of mulled wine or Old Fashioned cocktail. To help you get in the spirit and plan your own holiday cocktail party, we had the pros create 6 delicious drinks inspired by the season, care of The Distillery Bar in Yaletown, Hawksworth Restaurant, Tappo Restobar at L’Hermitage Hotel, and Cure Lounge at Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler. 1oz Apple Sour Puss
1/2oz Melon Liquore
1/2oz Vanilla Vodka

  1. Mix ingredients into a cocktail shaker over ice, shake
  2. Strain into a chilled martini glass
  3. Garnish with a Candy Cane.

1 egg white
0.25oz gomme syrup
0.75oz fresh lemon juice
1oz Hennessy VS cognac
0.5oz Zwack Hungarian Palinka Apricot brandy

Shake and charge cocktail with gold flakes.

1.5oz cinnamon infused Morin VSOP Calvados
0.75oz Taylor Fladgate 10 year old Tawny Port
3 dashes Scrappy’s Chocolate bitters

  1. Place 2 cinnamon sticks in an airtight glass container with 26oz of Morin VSOP Calvados Let sit for 24 hours (or to taste)
  2. Strain out through a coffee filter back into a clean glass bottle/container
  3. Add cinnamon Morin VSOP Calvados, Taylor Fladgate 10 year Tawny Port and Scrappy’s Chocolate bitters in a mixing glass
  4. Add ice and stir to taste (approximately 12 seconds)
  5. Strain into a small cocktail coupe (antique if you’re lucky enough to have one)
  6. Garnish with an orange twist and a cinnamon stick (optional)
The White Raspberry

Created at Cure Lounge at Nita Lake Lodge.

Melt away your troubles with this velvety sensation of raspberries and white chocolate.

4 to 5 Muddled raspberries
1 oz Chambord
1 oz Creme de Cacao
2 oz Milk or cream (depending on consistency preference)

Shake the ingredients in a cocktail shaker; strain into a martini glass, and garnish with a floating raspberry.

“When coming up with the holiday cocktail list I had my favorite holiday flavors in mind. Smashing and tearing into a Terry’s chocolate orange was one of my favorite Christmas morning past times as a kid, so I designed a cocktail to recreate that taste and experience.” – Jan Masden, Bartender at Cure Lounge at Nita Lake Lodge.

1oz Grey Goose L’orange
5oz Crème de Cacao
0.5oz Kahlua
2oz Fresh Squeezed orange
2 dashes orange bitters

Shake over ice and strain into a martini glass, garnish with orange twist.

The Screaming Viking

2 parts Yaletown Gin
1 part Elderwood Flower Syrup
1 part fresh lemon and lime juice
1 egg white (dry shake)
Muddled cucumber and ginger

  1. Ice-shake and double strain.
  2. Serve in a classic coupe and garnished with a cucumber round.
